Advanced Equine Magnetic Resonance Imaging for Veterinary Surgeons

30 Jul 2010 - 13:35
Etc/GMT
This new, ground-breaking course is a must for veterinary surgeons involved in low and/or high-field equine MRI wishing to stay at the cutting edge of this rapidly evolving technique. With experience totalling over 5000 MRI examinations, the International team of speakers will discuss the current status and future directions of this, now indispensable, modality. Topics such as comparison with computed tomography, digital radiography and scintigraphy, emerging techniques such as contrast studies, cartilage imaging and lesion aging will be discussed in detail and from a global perspective. In addition, the finer points of image interpretation and sequence optimisation will be covered in a series of lectures and image reading sessions. The speakers have been chosen for their wide-ranging experience and will share their current methods of incorporating the most appropriate sequences to achieve exemplary images and reach a definitive diagnosis. The use of DICOM/PACs and teleradiology in equine practice will also be covered. Image reading sessions: places will be limited to facilitate delegate/speaker interaction in a series of small group practical reading sessions.
