The application of ultrasonography in limb evaluations will be demonstrated to the equine practitioner. Recent advances in ultrasonography will be discussed in relation to diagnosis of tendon and ligament injuries. A variety of equipment will be used during the laboratory sessions to visualize the limb anatomy of the horse. Ultrasound case studies will be presented in group discussions. This 3 day course is designed to update the practitioner on the current concepts of etiology, diagnosis and management of the various conditions causing lameness in horses. The course begins with a discussion of the visual aspects of lameness diagnosis (including videos), followed by the interpretation of the various manipulative and palpation tests. Approaches to diagnostic anesthesia are also discussed in detail. Following this the various diseases affecting the fore and hind limbs, and back regions of the horse are reviewed. Start: 15:15
