OrthoVetSuperSite is updated with this November / December 2007 edition.

OrthoVetSuperSite is published by ESVOT with free access to ESVOT members and on payment to everyone who will register.

This month we have activated the payment service by Paypal, with this option the new subscribers receive immediately the username and password from the site.

The aims of the website are to promote online update and exchange of information among the veterinary orthopaedic community, to promote ESVOT activities and to inform about all the activities in veterinary orthopaedic education organized all over the world.

We intend to attract veterinarians interested in orthopaedics from all over the world, both in small animal and large animal fields, and we plan to open the access to other veterinary orthopaedic societies and groups in the near future.
ESVOT members and registered users will receive a newsletter e-mail every time the site is updated (monthly at the moment and weekly in the future).

The contents of the site are:

• Abstracts: abstracts concerning veterinary orthopaedics and traumatology published in different journals, collected from the web (journal sites, Congress Proceedings, pubmed, etc.). The Top Veterinary Journals regularly reviewed are: AJVR - American Journal of Veterinary Research, Canadian Veterinary Journal, Compendium of Clinical Practice, EVE - Equine Veterinary Education, EVJ - Equine Veterinary Journal, JAAHA - Journal of the American Animal Hospital Association, AVMA - Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, JSAP - Journal of Small Animal Practice, VCOT - Veterinary and Comparative Orthopaedics and Traumatology, VECCS - Journal of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, Veterinary Anesthesia/Analgesia, Veterinary Radiology & Ultrasound, Veterinary Record, Veterinary Surgery, Veterinary Clinics of North America.

• Interviews: interviews of international Authors discussing new treatments, new implants & instruments, etc.

• Special focus and Case Studies: planned topics or clinical cases to be discussed/presented by international Authors, 1-2 pages long, with further reading suggestions.

• Round tables: controversial topics will be presented by different invited Authors.

• Meetings & Courses: an updated list of Meetings and Courses will be published, with links to each organizing body. Special emphasis will be dedicated to all the national veterinary orthopaedic societies and groups in Europe.

• Proceedings: PDF files of the ESVOT Proceedings will be available to download.

• Books: all new books in veterinary orthopaedics will be announced with the front page picture, a short presentation provided by the publisher and the link to the publisher.

• Comparative orthopaedics: news and Meetings in human orthopaedics, selected from the human medical websites.

• Advertisements: a section where Companies can advertise new implants/instruments, special courses, with links to their websites. Food and drug Companies are invited too.

• Classified Marketplace: employment, equipment for sale, medical and surgical suppliers links.

• Other: new ideas will be developed as the site expands.

The website production is realized by:

• General coordination and promotion by myself, with the collaboration of CSM (ESVOT Secretariat).

• Large animal Orthopaedic Section expert, Raphael Labens, resident in LA, NCSU, Raleigh, NC, USA, with a grant provided by ESVOT, with the scientific supervision of Michael Schramme, past President of ESVOT. 
Raphael will create and submit the material related to large animal orthopaedics according to the above contents.

• Small animal Orthopaedic Section expert, Brian Trumpatori, SA resident at NCSU, Raleigh, NC, USA, with a grant provided by ESVOT, with the scientific supervision of John Houlton, past President of ESVOT. 
Brian will create and submit the material related to small animal orthopaedics, according to the above contents.

• The Website creation and update is done by a professional web-company, Studiolo Design, Cremona, Italy, under my direct supervision. Studiolo Design created the website structure, with password entrance for ESVOT members, the archive search engine, and will publish the material submitted by the Section experts.
